Pros

There aren’t any unless you just want chaos in your life and the thrill of not knowing when you might show up to work and half your coworkers are just gone.

Cons

The company has been mismanaged for over five years because the founders have no idea what they’re doing and only do whatever the board tells them to do. They raised money a few years ago and ran the company into the ground and had to lay off a bunch of the company...twice. All while telling everyone that things were great. The layoffs came as a complete surprise to everyone and we’re not handled with any dignity or respect. The founder, a guy named Jon, is constantly fooling himself and the people around him that things are always “awesome.” He shows countless charts and graphs that only tell half of the story and basically lies to everyone he talks to. He jerks the organization around with his inability to set clear direction, wakes up every day with a new idea that sends people on wild goose chases, and then yells at peple when that doesn’t get the result he wants. When it catches up with him and the start running out of money, they lay off all the people who did nothing but work hard to build value to cover their poor leadership. In 2019 they bought a game engine, and in 2020, they finally hired a CEO who knew what he was doing. An exec from an actual game company. Things got way better really fast. We finally had a vision, a direction, leadership was transparent, and he helped hire some talent from the game industry who knew what they were doing. Then after he started fixing everything, hired a real leadership team, and helped them raise another $20M, the board decided to do lay everyone off half the company, including the CEO, and undo all the stuff he’d fixed and didn’t explain why. Everyone just showed up one day and half the company was gone. Aparrently they think they can make a serious game engine without any experience. Just when things were looking like they were going to get better too. Just read the history in these reviews. It was good for nine months while Mike was here, but besides that it’s been mistake after mistake after mistake. Stay far away from this company.

Pros

Wide selection of snacks and drinks

Cons

Overworked and underpaid should be the motto at AppOnboard. The company is 3 years old and they refuse to do performance reviews or events for employees. I get sad when I walk in the office. They don't want to spend money on employees. There is a paper policy of unlimited PTO but you have to beg to be able to take days off.

Pros

The excitement of never knowing what you will be working on after the next pivot, if you will even have a job! /s

Cons

No advancement or raise system. Meager PTO offering. Leadership is almost non-existent; a large percentage of the company reports to one person who doesn't have time for any of it. CEO micromanages and sends passive-aggressive messages late at night. Multiple rounds of layoffs, and more recently, a mass exodus of employees who saw the writing on the wall. Leadership preaches transparency, then tries to hide the company's problems.
