Pros
The people employed to do the work are almost all fantastic, kind, bright, passionate people, and the remote-first setup works really well.
Cons
Those who occupy the top positions are out of their depth and their insecurity and arrogance mean the company has really lost its way. Talented people are gaslit, ground down and, in some cases, driven out by toxic leadership styles, and the culture has subtly become one of "do what you're told". The management style in some teams serves to hold people down rather than help them achieve what they're capable of. Over half the company were recently laid off out of the blue, just weeks after employees were told some of the teams would be growing. The company pretends to be data-driven, but the data behind the decisions is never shared and pertinent questions/concerns are dismissed or discouraged.
