I had it both at Appsian - The Best and the Worst
Pros
1-Remote organization. 2-Flexible working hours. 3-A great tech team and even better SMEs who know what they are doing. 4-There is a bit of micromanaging but once you show promise and accountability that isn't a problem anymore. 5-Higher management is approachable and the organization is mostly lean. 6-Super friendly teams all across the board that are happy to help each other. 7-If you are being hired to work for one of the founding team members (people who have been there for 5+ years), the marketing team, the UX team, or for the Director of engineering in India - go for it you'll learn a lot from them, they're brilliant people.
Cons
1-Poor people management - HR and finance processes are extremely poor. 2-Employee well being is neglected. 3-Time zone overlap can get crazy for the India team especially during winters with daylight savings kicking in. 4-No visibility or reward systems in place. 5-Very visible bias in off days concentrated toward certain regions even though the organization is spread across the country. 6-Finance processes have deteriorated over the years - salary/reimbursement delays are common (by a few days). They can entirely forget to pay variables/bonuses and show no remorse (things are resolved when you point them out but it does cause a lot of frustration.) 7-Grievance addressal is really poor. The HR department practices bias and is very focused on a faux image rather than their employees' well being. 8- Most positive reviews added here from new employees. who are asked to submit glassdoor reviews during onboarding. HR should really focus on taking care of people's mental health and work issues out instead of creating a brand image on Glassdoor. I had a great team, a great manager, and an amazing peer support system at Appsian. Appsian was a great place for a long time the only reason I left is because my hard work and dedication were met with ignorance, the smallest of problems required extensive chasing to be resolved with administrative departments.
