Pros
- Benefits were incredible. Self - insured and very affordable. Wellness discount included if you participated in a few requirements. Employees in Fort Smith had a free clinic close by that was at no cost to the employee.
- Very culture focused! ArcBest actually lived out their values and focused on them in everything they did.
- Significant training and employee development was provided and encouraged.
- Not afraid to try new things. They did a great job overcoming the "we've always done it this way" mentality. They implemented a lot of neat initiatives (wellness discount, new employee focus group and events, jean days, 5K races, employee appreciate events) that got the employees involved with the company and each other outside of their daily tasks.
- Leadership didn't hide out on the executive floor. They were willing to get out and about in the building and at different events. They were easy to talk to and welcoming. They participated in networking events, new hire luncheons, days of service, panels, etc. to be involved across the board. They did not shy away from interacting with all employees.
Cons
I have very few cons about ArcBest. There are still a few managers and employees that are stuck in a "that's how we've always done it" mentality, but they are truly few and far between at this point.
