Pros

Flexibility of hours is nice.

Cons

The executive team. Layoffs all the time. Do we really need these dumb perks in the office, people would rather have raises than coffee or a foosball table.

I must admit, your comment about spending money and layoffs is a bit concerning to me as we’ve hired over 130 employees over the past several months – with 164 celebrating anniversaries with Arcserve this year (70 have been with us for 5+ years!). The a history of longevity is encouraging to see. I can’t speak to the volume of positive reviews over the past few months but can assure you my executive team is prioritizing partner relations and ensuring a positive customer experience above anything else. Pros

I like some of the new management that has come in recently, but they have a difficult task ahead of them. There are some very nice people as well.

Cons

Completely dysfunctional. Most were lied to on the sales side regarding comp potential. The new management has tried to fix but it is not easy to say the least. The culture sucks. They are trying to have more team building but so many negative attitudes negate anything they do anyway. There have been several mass departures and I'd guess there will be at least one more. All of the good talent is overshadowed by a lot of really bad talent. You will find yourself asking how some of these people were hired for any job.

Pros

Decent product (Arcserve), not best in class but works fairly well.

Cons

Cutting costs over everything. This company regularly underpays commissions. The joke on the sales floor was, "nice deal, too bad you wont get paid on it." The company merged with StorageCraft, which has products that do not work. The sales team of 16 North American reps was cut down to 4 individuals over a year and a half. They are moving support from US to India after using US based support as a selling point.
