There is a simple explanation why Argo has so many job vacancies to post on job boards
Pros
I suppose a pro might be that Argo pays its employees reasonably well and the benefits are on par with the industry in general. But the pay isn't so great that it makes up for the cons outlined below.
Cons
I've never seen a company that was so quick to fire it's employees. There are no formal corrective action protocols in the organization's policies and procedures. One day a person is working and the next day he is being escorted out the door in utter bewilderment. There was even a case where an employee was fired but paid extra to suffer the degrading experience of training his own replacement. Now does that make any sense at all? If the employee's performance was so poor that he needed to be fired, why would any company think it wise to have that same individual train the new hire? Not surprisingly, his replacement came on board and was also promptly fired within a few months of starting the job. The company was cobbled together from a series of acquisitions and has continued to operate as 5 or 6 separate organizations. There have been no attempts to migrate to a single set of systems yet management ignores these obvious obstacles and plows forward with various initiatives to homogenize and consolidate departments.
