Pros

None. Really there is none. Maybe working with the other Argo employees but their also unhappy because they work for Argo Tea.

Cons

The pay is not enough for the work they just drop on your lap. No respect for your life outside of Argo Tea, they expect you to work on your days off because people call out all the time and their espresso machine and other machines like the bar always break and they also expect you to just deal with it even if the company that gross 17 mill a year is too cheap to fix any of the equipment. It's fun when customer screams at you because half the menu is unavailable because Argo is too cheap to fix their stuff which also hurts sells Which in return the GM gives you attitude because the store ain't meeting its sells quota. Human resource is a joke, the person over there clearly does not care or know what she is doing. And the GM could have hoot about the Baristas and is completely useless, and the owner is also does not want anything to do with the baristas clearly he's self titled . He won't even say hi to you he just expect you the give him white tea and is too good to be caught talking to a looser barista. They completely lie to you about jobs, I got hired has a barista but ended up being barista, prep, janitor, assistance manager, manager, dishwasher, GM for customers who want to scream at someone, handy man because Argo is too cheap to hire their own handy man. No Hoilday pay, no chance for upping your pay, health insurance is a joke. No sick days or PTO, can't request days off, honestly I could go on.

Pros

The tea is actually really good.

Cons

The reviews are absolutely correct, it will be the worst experience of your career if you choose to work at Argo Tea. The CEO, Arsen, it the reason this company will fail. Don't compare yourself to Apple, you are so far from it it's shocking that you would have the arrogance to even say it. If you are considering a job here, please read every other 1 star review and listen to what they have to say. I was a manager for less than a year and left without having another job to fall into it was that bad. I've been a franchise owner and developer and even at my worst, I was never as terrible as this company is to it's employees. Please, please, please steer of this company. I'm not a bitter ex-employee, I'm just trying to paint a clear picture.

Sad but learning experience

Pros

I appreciated the culture the company had to offer. I learned a lot about tea and I was proud to create drinks with what the company stood for. Learning at the UniversiTEA was an exciting experience. I met really amazing people to work with. I had the fortunate experience of working with a woman named Staci who was the manager at the time for the Randolph Street location. She was a very caring, encouraging, and charismatic individual.

Cons

Unfortunately, the company did not follow through with their values. I felt that it was all just an image. I worked at the Randolph Street location with the corporate office. Arsen doesn't smile at you or anything. As a barista, you would think he would acknowledge people working for his company. He'll just come up, request his cup to be refilled with white tea (no smile, please, or thank you) and goes on his way. I've had other coworkers that complained from other locations that their equipment was lacking, broken, and they aren't paid attention to. In fact, I've had more shared unfortunate experiences with other coworkers than good ones. I had poor management from all my shift supervisors. I had a shift that made me do all the dirty work just because I was new and no one else wanted to do it. There was obviously favorites being played in the team from a day to day basis. I transferred to a Woodfield location. We weren't paid attention to and we even came across e-mails that weren't supposed to be sent to us by one of the founders named Simon. In it, he was discussing how he doesn't know how Woodfield Mall survives. It was discouraging to see founders ridicule our location instead of supporting it. There was no help from a lot of upper management. There are high turnover rates and I don't know a single person that still works for Argo Tea when I was with the company. Everyone has left, been fired for unfair reasons, and found that there are other companies with WAY BETTER BENEFITS!! You get Argotea money which runs out quickly and isn't worth it quite frankly
