Pros

Availability of shifts should one be seeking copious and varied hours. There appears to be a lot of opportunity to move around within the company.

Cons

Underpaid depending on what sites you work. Armourguard will barely ever come to bat for their employees when negotiating pay rates with their clients. They offer the bare minimum with leave, pay scales etc. Management and supervisors pressure staff to work when unwell. Management show little to no concern for the wellbeing of their staff. A lot of pressure is placed on employees to cover for staff shortages when the management are the ones at fault.

Pros

Only have to give 2 weeks notice.

Cons

Terrible treatment from management/supervisors, horrible shifts given/pressured on you last minute, no pay increases except min wage increases, have to work 6 months before you can access sick leave(5 days) and have to work 1 year before you can access your annual leave.

Pros

flexible shifts having a mid-week weekend one week and a sat-sun the next very favorible, variety of shifts days/afternoons/nights, meet people who become lifelong friends outside work

Cons

1. minimum wage 2. dangerous work 3. complaints by members of the public who do wrong are believed more than the guards honest point of view - in other words armourguard are more concerned about their image by believing false allegations over the honesty of their employees 4. try calling in sick? good luck they will expect you to work while running a 39/40c temp, blocked nose and a cough or else they can sack you for it or even standing up for yourself if you are sick but tell their pencil pushers in the office to stay home and isolate. They seriously need to be investigated for breaching government covid laws which require sick people to isolate for 7 days 5. expected to work 24 hour long shifts, have 4 hours off, work another 16, have 3hrs off and work another 22 and so forth, any objections or not working on your rdo simply mean you dont get anymore hours or are simply sacked 6. any issues beyond your control you are screamed and yelled at by management with the excuse "its in your name so why did you let it happen" in fact the words are alot more harsher than that 7. you are just a number to them, they dont give a flying piece of dog poo about you 8. advancement is all nepotistic and "who ya know and get on with" and "licking the bosses boots" rather than based on effort
