Pros
Great coworkers in the field. All the field supervisors and the preceptors knew their stuff. Every paramedic I worked with was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and appreciated EMT-B's. I learned a lot. Salary was decent as far as EMS goes, especially in this area.
Cons
Way too many college students employed in the field who don't know what they are doing. Nepotism is strong here. A lot of people held higher level positions that shouldn't (and perhaps shouldn't have been hired in the first place). While the supervisors were great, the management made decisions every once in a while that made it appear as if they never set foot in a truck. They need a visionary like Bill Armstrong used to be, a person who has direction and specific goals for the company. Also, they need more 911 contracts because working IFTs day in and day out gets boring for more experienced employees. After two years I was looking for somewhere else.
