Pros

Visionary founder, positive grassroots impact of work. Excellent colleagues, small company feels like a family. Life's good if you're in a tech role. The cons apply only to non-tech people at Artoo.

Cons

While Artoo has everything going for it, the co-founder is unpleasant to work with, and always looks at me and my work with undisguised disdain; carries a misplaced superiority complex and my way or the highway attitude; instead of mentoring and helping colleagues with their work, criticises and scolds. Is a boss more than a colleague, a mentor or a co-founder to you, and you're just an employee. Is extremely cold otherwise also. Makes the workplace feel like a Nazi concentration camp. Thankless work with unreasonable expectations and no explanations whatsoever.

Pros

Company has been able to befool some really good people and that is the only pro one can find in there.

Cons

One of the really impractical environment to work. No leaves Seven days working No working hours (need to work even after you reach home, 16-18 hrs a day) Peanuts payment No personal growth No mechanism for salary review (People are drawing the same what they started with) Management (both the founders) are really impractical. They are overconfident about their skills and caliber which helps them to get clients but then after employees are pushed like machines to fulfill their promises which are nowhere close to reality. Policies are not at all employee friendly, after working throughout the year even during leaves and weekends they don't encash them instead if one has taken any extra leave they do deduct it from salary. They try to cheat employees when it comes to final settlement and one need to be very careful about documents you are signing there and before agreeing to anything (if you are careful probably, you probably won't agree).

No appreciation, only blame

Pros

An opportunity to change the world, though the company has diverged from the grassroots impact it originally aimed for. Nice people overall. Quitting feels as relieving as breaking up with an unreasonable demanding girlfriend.

Cons

The founders bag clients through over-promising. They suffer from acute optimism about their capabilities. But when things fall inevitably behind schedule, you're expected to work weekends without compensatory offs, work late without overtime, make false claims to clients to save face, until your mental health and family life begin to suffer and you decide to quit. One of the founders has a bad attitude and is a micromanaging task master. You'll be blamed for not meeting unrealistic expectations, given hell for taking a day off sick or relaxing one weekend, and generally be treated like an employee and not a colleague. You won't be working directly under this person if you're in tech.
