Pros

You will appreciate your retail sales job or restaurant server's job way more after this.

Cons

Very little wage. You will be working in the production house folding boxes for DAYS at the name of training AND after training -even when you have been hired for business administration. Hardly anyone speaks English so if you can speak Mandarin you will spend half your work day translating to english -good luck trying to communicate if you are not Chinese. Insanely high employee turnover. If you are at the office clerk level, you will be driving around packages, picking up random people, lifting heavy boxes, working in the warehouse -maybe even cleaning the toilet who knows? And none of that will ever be in the job description so beware. You have to put in requests for office supplies such as pens and paper that get to you weeks later... laptops don't work.. there is no communication between departments. Everyone pushes work on other people and at the end of the day you end up running around between departments for all of 8 hours of your work day with no results AND get yelled at by superiors for not meeting deadlines even though its out of your control.

Pros

You will learn how to fold boxes, how to print label, how to install screw caps, pretty good knowledge--if you have never ever done any of these things in your 20+ years of life.

Cons

You learn those 'Pros' and quickly you will realize that you were hired for a position which has a totally different job description. They will tell you 'everyone join the company will need to spend 1 month on production line for training, this is also HELPFUL for you to understand what the company is doing' and you can start your labour job. Don't expect an assigned parking lot, you need to arrive at least 15-25 min early and if you are lucky you can find a street parking nearby; Lunch is only 30 min so be sure to pack your own sandwich; Don't expect an assigned locker when you are still in the probationary period, because they won't give you one. and don't forget the MOST IMPORTANT thing: don't you ever complain about their 'production line training'! because if you do, someone will report you and you will be like me, at the end of one day's physical work, someone walk to you and told you something like 'someone told me to let you know that tomorrow you don't need to come to work' and if you ask 'WHO told you that?''WHAT does that mean? is that a day off or a termination?' "WHY is this happening?" Don't expect an answer, just call them the next day to arrange your last paycheque delivery because they are NOT using online auto deposit! (yes it happens in 2020) And yes, I still don't know why I got terminated (they won't tell me), so the only possible reason I can concluded is this one. One more thing, you probably know this company won't offer you a high salary, but do expect to receive a 'competitive salary' of ~15/16 CAD/hr. okay, maybe it's competitive enough in 2008 but definitely not competitive in 2020. Your supervisor will tell you this is "HIGH SALARY" every time you met her in the lunch room. Pretending you are SATISFIED with this and fold hard, screw hard, print label hard...maybe you can survive their probationary period.
