    Pros

    Strong safety oriented culture.
Stop Work Authorization empowers employees to stop work before beginning a task that they’re unsure about, and to reevaluate how to do it safely before beginning work.

    Cons

Like any 24/7 production-based industry, 12 hour rotating shifts can be long and hard on not just employees, but their families as well.

I worked at Ashland full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Safety oriented; some people within company are actually good people with strong morals and ethics. Most of the plants have excellent management and employees.

    Cons

HR is useless for employees; only there for the company. Hard to get a raise even with great annual review. Corporate management are all about making the company money (or saving money by sending TONS of jobs out of the country).

    Advice to Management

Don't see point in offering any as it tends to fall on deaf ears of the greedy.

I worked at Ashland full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Stock is doing great right now

    Cons

Company has been in flux since acquiring Hercules in 2008. Stock may be at a high but employee moral is very low. The CIO keeps sending jobs to Mexico and India and letting go of the HEART of the company. IT is done by Atos now and they can't even find the Esc key on the upper left of a keyboard.

    Advice to Management

Resign now and get some fresh blood in to make the company great again.
