Pros

Concrete and direct experience with gaining state legislative advocacy.

Cons

If your policy preferences lean progressive, it sometimes be a difficult and challenging environment, as the Georgia General Assembly is majority conservative. Working on passing successful proactive progressive legislation was not as frequent as being reactive and combatting harmful policies to Georgia’s marginalized communities.
