I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I've been at the company for over 3 years, most employees have long tenures 10-40 years. The company culture is so much like a family. Everyone I have met or interacted with is always eager to help and contribute. I'm very fortunate to have had the bosses that I've had, great professionals and maybe even friends. As we go through our integration with Legacy TWG employees, I feel more and more happy to a part of this organization. Our new family members are also awesome people to work with, great professionals, extensive talent, kind human beings.

    Cons

A minor downside might be that things are a bit slow to make happen. Our processes from hiring to product launch are sometimes tedious and long, but that's only because we're rigorous in researching and meticulous in deciding a strategy.

    Advice to Management

We need more team meetings where we can interact face to face with the people we work with everyday.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

So many ways to grow within this company. They recognize everyone's potential who want to show it and also put the work in .

    Cons

I don't have anything negative to say for Assurant as a company but the job is tedious calls , long hours depending on your own personal scheduling .

I worked at Assurant full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Upward mobility, salary increases, bonuses, team environment, can work from home if approved.

    Cons

Health benefits, work/life balance, available specialty resources such as network or server

    Advice to Management

Review and adjust work/life balance which is inconsistent across the board. Some resources are working late and over weekends, while some teams are out the door by 4:00. Acquire better health benefits. It's almost cheaper to go outside of the company instead of using Assurant health benefits.

I worked at Assurant full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers, decent pay and benefits, relaxed atmostphere.

    Cons

Managers are often inexperienced and ill equipped to manage a team. Employees are mostly kept in the dark about internal changes and lay-offs. Can be hard to transfer to a new department.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees more opportunities and incentive to succeed.

I worked at Assurant full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Assurant provided the most up to date training to ensure that the information you provided customers was accurate. The salary was comparable to the marketplace. My supervisor was great as she listened to your concerns and was very personable. Many employees began their careers right after high school and ended up retiring from there.

    Cons

Working downtown. Although there was parking available as well as reimbursement for Milwaukee County Transit.

    Advice to Management

I wish that the passage of healthcare reform in March 2010 had not happened. I realize it was beyond your control and I am still sad to have lost my job.
