Pros
The Managing Director is forward thinking, and once in a while shares his high level plans with the company. Product portfolio is promising, with a great oncology product launched around the world from 2014. Other great legacy products on the list too, so plenty of work to get involved in at every part of the product life cycle. Company is going through a growth phase so great opportunities to move between departments for those who are less specialised.
Cons
Management are often too concerned with themselves that they miss what is happening on the ground. Poor communication and transparency also slows processes down and the business sometimes suffers when lower ranks are stretched because of inefficiencies that result. Work life balance depends on the individual manager. Was told that coming in at 9am and leaving at 6pm constitued "flexible" hours, and stepping downstairs to the cafe to get a takeaway coffee was seen as slacking off. It is disheartening to see new staff start with fresh ideas and energy, but this gets drained by the end of their probationary period. The office lacks energy, and often employees work in complete silence.
