Pros

The core idea at the center of the company is solid. Being the hub for an athlete's race history is something that could be really great. The office space is pretty cool and gives the impression of being a modern progressive place. Ping pong table is fun and healthy lifestyle is encouraged so you can go for a run over the lunch hour without feeling too guilty.

Cons

Product quality is low and the user experience suffers because the tech debt is enormous. Any new ideas and features will be put on the back burner indefinitely. Everything is a fire drill and the focus of teams changes dramatically almost daily. There is confusion about who they are (race registration? chip timing? Social?). Employee turnover during my time there was astonishing with rarely a week passing without somebody quitting or getting fired. All of the above compounds on itself keeping morale consistently low.

A Company On The Decline

Pros

Awesome industry, great people and great vibe (outside of work related stuff). Free gym membership at Life Time fitness which is actually very nice and accessible.

Cons

Good people but terrible leadership and execution. Pretty hard to get anything done and certainly don't expect to be compensated fairly or have career growth. Basically go here if you don't care about personal growth or career trajectory. There are talented people but no unifying force or strategy.

Pros

-The people are awesome! There are some extremely talented, cool people here. Unfortunately, we’ve already lost a ton of them and many are actively trying to leave because they can do way better. -Great industry with some really cool ideas for future products- they’re just not going to be able to work on them for years by which time they’ll have already sunk. -Flexible schedule, unlimited PTO for half of the office only. -Group workouts, trails nearby, fitness equipment and showers make for easy workouts and stress relievers. -$300 stipend a year for fitness gear.

Cons

-This company has so much potential but is severely lacking leadership. The people at the very top are completely incompetent leaders with zero respect for 98% of their employees. They are unbelievably unfit for their jobs and the company & a majority of the staff are suffering because of it. The leadership team has such a lack of direction and coordination that they are constantly forced to point fingers at each other and people are thrown under the bus frequently. -There are a handful of current and previous employees looking into potential lawsuits for various forms of discrimination (racism, sexism, sexual harassment) they have experienced. -If you consider yourself a capable professional in any form of the word, stay far, far away. There are a few people in leadership who have the maturity of six year old boys and it gets old, quick. Luckily the people on the floor actually respect each other and are chill in comparison. -A handful of employees get perks like stock options (even though they’re not good) that others are likely unaware of. The difference between the way the tech group gets treated and the rest of the office is insane. -The benefits are terrible. For being the Healthy Way of Life Company, you treat your employees and their wellness like dirt. -Fear tactics are often utilized. Top leadership walks around checking for butts in seats and it makes people admittedly work less hard than they would if they were trusted and treated like adults.

We consistently hear how great our people are, and we totally agree. We love the passion that our team brings not just to their work but for our industry. As far as leadership, we are currently investing in our leadership development, and have built a team to help us support a culture that everyone enjoys. We truly care about this because we know the only way we can succeed is by retaining good people.
