Pros

Engineers are empowered to test new ideas and approaches while working within a framework of team-wide agreements that help maintain consistency at scale.

Cons

Most middle managers won't care about their people and are only looking out for themselves. Upper management is cheap, removing social budgets from teams on occasion, having all team use a single licence of some products, etc. When they play like this, one should suspect they are not legit. They don't honour agreements with employees (for example, promise you stock, even signing documents, then they back off). Instead of having clear exit conditions, many people who left signed NDAs and negotiated some conditions. They do lay-offs from time to time, making up fake reasons so they don't look like lay-offs, and let people go in batches so it's not too suspicious, but it's clear what they do.

Toxic SLT and (some) middle managers. Avoid.

Pros

- Great talented people - Decent pay - Fully remote / great deal of flexibility

Cons

The company presents itself as a flat organisation where every opinion is valued, but my experience was very different. Leadership often appeared supportive on the surface, yet decisions made behind the scenes suggested otherwise. There is a strong sense of a “fake culture”. Transparency and openness are promoted publicly, but not consistently practiced internally. Some managers can be petty, and employees can feel undervalued or disposable regardless of their contributions or achievements. If leadership decides they no longer want someone in the business, the process can feel abrupt and lacking in empathy or recognition for the work that person has done. In some cases, employees may even be made to feel responsible for decisions that were already made. Overall, I found the environment disappointing and lacking genuine care for employees.
