      Start-up with no clear vision

      Pros

      Lots of bold new ideas and an interesting multicultural environment. The compensation package is decent but depends heavily of outside investments.

      Cons

      Technical resources are spread thin over three sites. No coherent management and and very politicized. No valuable intellectual property. Claims made to customers without technical know-how.

      Good benefits package, 401K plan, large Parking lot

      Cons

      a start up lab, small space, not enough optical equipment. A lot of big talk from CEO and managers because their motivation relies on them skimming through a research article and picking up fragments without a comprehensive review of article to completely understand its implications. Weak foundation of knowledge and cannot connect basic principal to application i.e. how light interacts with tissues in different scenarios. Does not understand limitation of certain techniques for certain applications.

      Good salary and nice prototype medical device

      Cons

      1. No work life balance 2. No professionalism 3. No ethics 4. Poor leadership 5. Don’t pay attention to technical person feedbacks 6. If you are a yes man type to all requests, even you know, technically that is not possible to do, but leaders want to say yes, it is the your ideal place 7. Steal ideas from others and claim it as theirs
