CEO is abusive

Pros

There is a pay check but it becomes apparent with the abuse received it isn't worth it.

Cons

The CEO Tushar Atre doesn't value anyone but himself. He once likened employees to break pads - you push on them as hard as you can and when you have used them, you replace them. I do not recommend this company as an employer or client. There is no respect for anyone. You may get a robust product or a paycheck but it comes with a hefty price because this CEO thinks he is the only person in this world that matters. He scream abuse at employees. He treats people in ways you would not think possible.

I'd like to clarify this review. It's offshore developers that get treated like brake pads. Use them only when needed and with caution. There are good ones, but even they can be inconsistent. Run them hard on the night shift, and run them in parallel (take the better person's work, toss the rest). Make sure an onshore engineer quality controls/checks in the work.

Pros

Nothing positive comes to mind. It was really that bad!

Cons

- Incessant badgering and micro-managing from the owner - Completely unrealistic expectations of contractors (get chewed afterwards for not knowing, what a laugh) - Ridiculously rude, confrontational management style - Enormous egos that smother accomplishments, drive off employees, and sour client relationships - All about the money (theirs, not yours). God forbid a client ask for something small that wasn't "in scope" without getting charged up the wazoo. And their notified of this in a tactless, badly timed fashion. - High turnover and it shows. You'll quickly realize why everyone there is newly hired, as Atrenet's shady ways sends them running back out the door!

This gentleman started doing QA and then we switched him over to project management. That was a mistake. Although he assured us otherwise, he was unrealistic about the pressures of working long hours on a regular basis and during crunch time. He was too much of a pushover both internally and externally which got us in trouble. There is a silver lining. One of the engineers who started at the same time at this individual is now in a leadership role on our team and he's doing really well. Win some. Lose some. Thick skin. Move on.

Pros

I think Tushar Atre is the worst person I've ever met in my life and I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to work for him. Be aware of Atrenet is just a name and not a real company with everything that comes with as he wants people to believe.

Cons

I also think that he did the to reviews above.

This employment was short lived. Young guy, thin skin. He had talent, but he lacked corporate experience. He said he wanted consistent income, and the potential to work with our larger clients. We took a risk and it did not work out. The lesson for job seekers: Our engineers often need to pull multiple long days in a row, especially during relaunches. Be careful about switching from mom and pop work to the corporate work we do. The demands of corporate work will limit your personal freedom. Additionally, we've established technical standards which may not pair well with the way you're used to doing things.
