Company organization is a mess

Pros

Decent pay, most of the employees genuinely care about their jobs and the company, convenient location in Pittsburgh

Cons

There is no company organization and no long term plan whatsoever for the Pittsburgh branch. The Pittsburgh branch is a complete mess - upper management in Pittsburgh needs to be replaced because they are all just looking out for themselves and not the best interests of the company. There are at least two people in upper management positions that have had physical relationships with their employees on company time or have been reported for making sexual overtures and comments to their employees AND THEY STILL WORK THERE AND MAKE DECISIONS FOR THIS COMPANY. The middle management and employee base are really good, but the upper management is steering this ship right into the ground - it's an old boys club that is only interested in preserving itself, at the expense of the company and the employees that they manage. For example, in the last year and a half the company direction changed at least FIVE TIMES. They have no idea what they are doing. It's a shame too, because all of the good people that worked for them either left or were chased out because of the "old boys" mentality. Everyone here is jaded to some degree, and it's only a matter of time until the atmosphere and general negative feeling about this place get to you. If you try to improve something, this is the response that you will get: "This is the way we have done this for 17 years, and I don't see why we should change it." Most of the people that have been there for more than 10 years are so jaded and negative that they just come to get a paycheck - they are not interested in bettering the company or the product. If you just want to come and get a paycheck, and don't mind a ton of drama, this is the place for you. If you have a drive to improve a company and make it better, or you don't like a massive amount of drama and gossip, I would steer clear.

Pros

Nice co-workers, salary and bonus were competitive, holiday parties were ok.

Cons

Horrible health insurance plan, hard work goes unnoticed, people walk on eggshells in some departments, wasteful spending on outside agencies, boring work and boring work culture, very few extra perks, very little career advancement or outside training.
