Pros

Attentive has a lot of Pro's. They have clear dominance in the Enterprise & Strategic Sales space. When you're a new rep, this makes your life a lot easier as you're able to leverage iconic brands with great growth. This has helped fuel expansion internationally. They are WFH / Remote / Hybrid in US, which is great. International does have a bit of an odd culture, where it's mandatory 2 days a week in the office. Not my cup of tea, some people love it, I think moving this to optional which have a good cultural impact. They have a frictionless sales cycle, actually enjoyable to sell. It does have some con's which I'll reference below, but it's VERY different to any other SAAS sales motion, which is good to see. APAC has a lot of white space they can explore, if they can nail the pricing model, it could have major success. People....awesome people in the Aus office. In my short time of sub 6 months, I was always treated with respect, made many friendships and was excited to work with these humans, which is a big Pro.

Cons

The sales motion is great, frictionless and seamless to get customers on, but that isn't how your paid. This can cause some challenging conversations because you think you're doing well (e,g you hit your goal), but that doesn't reflect on your comp. Pricing in Aus, it needs some help. Being premium is great, but that should be 1.5-2x, 4-7x makes it incredibly hard to showcase value. Not a lot of separation between Klaviyo & Yotpo, this makes it very challenging. The truth is, you can't go wrong with any of those 3, they are the clear leaders in the space. This puts a lot of pressure on personal relationships, as the gap between products gets smaller and smaller. Sydney based hiring. Sydney, is Sydney. People either love it, or hate it. It's very expensive, and a lot of top talent have moved away from Sydney to work outside of the CBD. This makes hiring and finding talent very hard. This was unfortunately a large decision for myself leaving the business. E-comm / Retail is very different to B2B, if you haven't worked in E-comm, I would spend some time understanding events and the type of engagements you will be part of. I realized quickly that having a family of 2 young kids, E-comm vertical is not for me. The high volume of "parties" and "events', doesn't suit my lifestyle. I might be built for the boring B2B world, and that's okay. If you love to go out, nurture partners and customers and enjoy a nice Red / Cocktail and a good feed, you will absolutely love this environment.

Pros

If you are a junior engineer there are so many things that need to be fixed that you’ll learn a lot. If you are optimizing for learning, not bad. Everyone in eng is trying their best. Sometimes that’s mediocre but they’re trying!

Cons

Leadership is in the process of self-immolation… Essentially the entire design org left on one day. They were offered severance or otherwise pushed out to leave through the bs performance process. Toxic behavior at the top reinforces the handful of mediocre managers. Unfortunately the mediocre folks have way outsized influence. After firing a bunch of people in March on one day…they did it again in June! Additionally in the same breath they announce another 200 hundred million dollar raise they give everyone lucky enough to be promoted 5k raises and no raises to anyone else. Another pointless self-own from leadership.
