Massive Layoffs

Pros

The company has a great product.

Cons

Constant layoffs. Everyone is fearful that they are next. The company continues to interview and hire employees only to lay them or others off. Not a well run company at all. No one in sales is making their number, and only two have sold anything over the past year. The break room conversation is that the company is going under

Pros

Nothing much to say except, that there are a couple of guys who are really great individuals. Made a couple of friends.

Cons

- Management by fear type culture starting at the top. - Loud aggressive, negative, yelling. - No trust into people. It is a hire and fire company with no HR experience. - No vision and no marketing support or strategy. - Leadership has no leadership strengths. - During my time approximately 12 people left the company. They quit!

Decent, but they are still figuring things out.

Pros

The people are very nice, driven and tech savvy. The benefits are some of the best I have seen- Thirsty Thursdays, free lunch on Fridays, unlimited paid time off etc. The company is very well funded for its size. CEO is great.

Cons

Attivio is still trying to figure things out, particularly how to create demand for and sell their products. Their software applications are top notch, but not necessarily "must-have" technology. I was brought on to help sell the product and found it very challenging to convince people that the technology was worth the money. Because of this, the company has struggled to find its footing in a niche market and has a proven reputation for quick hiring and quick firing. Over the course of the year that I worked here, I saw many people come and go, often discreetly. Its a decent company but it is far from stable.
