August Jackson positions itself as an experiential agency. What they actually do is glorified event planning for client employees. In other words, they produce and decorate the events for the employees of the client. And for two of the dullest verticals in the market; Pharma and Higher Education. It's as creatively riveting as you can imagine.
So applying designers beware. What you do at August Jackson is re-purpose creative assets that outside creative agencies generate, and apply them to the backroom, below-the-line visual communications for colleges and drug companies. And in Power Point and Keynote. All you need to know: Power Point, all day every day. That fun. That depressing.
Career alert: Sketch and InVision for mobile apps or responsive UI/UX prototypes? Nope. Cool designs for new brand campaign directions that consumers will one day see? Nope. What you will do though is a lot of Production; file prep in In-Design for conferences and graduation stage props. And the occasional ancillary logo.
But as stated, there is a snack closet.
