Pros

Nice place for IT career starters - Auriga is eager to risk hiring them. When employed: - possibility to work remotely (on some projects, and not every day) - nice insurance program, includes stomatology - foundation of new departments isn't too rare - higher possibility to advance to team lead than in other companies

Cons

If you are fresh-out-of-the-university and agree to a lower payment, don't think it'll increase the next year, because you have more experience. The salary here doesn't grow, it's the company policy. It was tolerable at first, when the salary increased by 10% and inflation in Russia was 10%. But then, when the RUR/USD value became considerably lower, even though the company receives the money from the customer in USD, it explicitly rejected indexation of the salary. Basically, I received N$/month when I signed up for the job, and now I have 0.7N$ (and falling). The company just put remaining 0.3N$ into its pockets, babbling something like "per Russian law, we have to pay you in RUR, ha-ha". They even demand the workers to sign a separate non-disclosure about the size of their salaries (!). Which is void according to the Russian law, by the way (contents of the work contract can't be secret). Also a sloppy HR somehow "forgot" to sign me up for an insurance, which I found out when I needed to go to the stomatologist right before my vacation trip. Even though the company admitted its guilt, it refused to pay the bill. I was lucky nothing happened to my teeth during my trip (which was in US, so it would have been a disaster considering local pricing). During the incident, the behavior of the HRs was rude and they tried to prove that it's my fault I didn't double-check their work; vice-president of the company had to be copied the letter just to make them start taking this seriously. Yearly professional revalidation, which is supposed to be affecting salary, proved to be a bureacratic formality. I've got flying colors there and it affected nothing. Due to personal reasons I can't quit right now, but the fact that I can have 2 times bigger salary in other place, the company knows it and still won't do a thing, is very demotivating. It's like squeezing some short-term money from an employee is more important to them, even though our department is shorthanded as it is and generates considerable profits for the company.

Pros

Free location, anywhere in the world All communications are via skype, phone used quite rarely Comfortable office Very broad medical insurance, covers almost everything Smart HR Ideal for engineer who wants just to work and get his salary regularly.

Cons

Auriga tries to FULLY satisfy for Russian government laws, so it involves a lot a headaches for managers. Any simple question that can be resolved by making one phone call in small company, may take a couple of weeks in Auriga Auriga tries to provide all information about development process to the customers. It requires collecting ernormous number of data about development process parameters. I never met such level of a bureaucracy, even in army
