Pros

You have a good amount of control over your bar and inventory. You get to actually learn a lot about wine both from experience and the really knowledgable managers there. I'm not saying everyone is an angel, but there are some really amazing people there who you can form solid mentor relationships with and learn about anything you're interested in whether that's ok the alcohol or the culinary side. Oh yea, and you get food! Amazing food! Pay is good, but you better be willing to work. They also thankfully have benefits

Cons

Not all managers are created equal. The bar is very small, and you have to hand wash all the glasses. Bar maintenance can be hard sometimes because you don't always have space to fit the inventory you'll need for the night, so it requires you to stop and run to get something. You also serve to servers, not directly to customers (although it happens in some cases) so you don't get the people contact aspect of bartending

Pros

The sports center at the Austin Country Club is a great place to work. My bosses treated me well and understood when I had to take time off for school. ACC also provides lunch and dinner to it's employees, which is a nice benefit for a broke college kid.

Cons

It can be difficult for part time workers like lifeguards to get more hours, but that is to be expected for those jobs.
