Pros
Employee Discounts, $5 health insurance to 30+hour employees, lots of opportunity for continuing education, free employee health program with vacation incentives, excellent selection of circulating materials
Cons
Depending on location, customer facing positions have to deal with large numbers of mental health consumers, and don't always take advantage of special training to do so. Employees are still subject to paper timekeeping and rarely advance without a Library degree

* training is provided. I knew nothing when I came in. But they had an orientation and a self-paced reading material. And of course, everybody was so accessible I just ask questions when I didn't know how to do a certain thing. * friendly and helpful staff
Cons
No cons that I could think of. As a volunteer, I can't really speak of compensations and benefits.
