Pros

- Good benefits (Spill app, lots of additional leave opportunities) - Dog-friendly offices - Some lovely people - Great location - Decent career progression

Cons

- Too many managers (and lots without management training) - Listening to the wrong people/not loyal to their long-standing staff members - High staff turnover - You’re told to appease difficult members of the team, rather than them being held accountable like they should be - Communication from the top down is severely lacking (leadership team, heads of departments)

Pros

free lunch on a Thursday

Cons

I was part of the commercial team which has a toxic, bullying culture and gets through more staff than the prison service (the job makes you feel like you are an inmate). The company has no product right now after a huge shift in market focus. Since the switch to lab automation, they are only trying to copy competitors' products but producing rubbish that is at least 5 years out of date and promising customers that one day they will deliver. Nobody in the company has any experience in bioscience and even when they have hired experience they are being told the product is terrible, one guy even joined for a month before he saw the light and got out. The product team don't listen to any feedback and sticks their head in the sand, hoping and praying that one day someone buys something. I know at least 3 other employees were managed out of the business by management, they throw performance management plans around like school reports to get people to leave, if you push back they just bully you until they get their own way. If you are thinking about a job here, DON'T, I don't think the company will be around for much longer, irrespective of what lies they might spin to you in an interview.

Pros

You can enjoy after 5pm.

Cons

Many. 1. Managers are unqualified, and unethical. 2. In many levels, they don't know what they do. 3. At the office there are political tactics such as favoritism and manipulation, which can undermine trust and create a toxic work environment. 4. More direct, it is a very toxic environment. 5. Investors should talk to CEO, and ask him to replace all managers.
