Pros

- Great HR team gluing the company together - Smart engineering team - Dedicated and determined to do the best with what they were given - The only thing preventing commercialization is the will of the OEM's to do it

Cons

- OEM politics poison the work place - Lack of stack funding is slowing down commercialization - Outgoing CEO didn't manage the company - Daimler Germany management team incapable of working collaboratively with Vancouver team (lack of respect and "we know best" attitude) - Daimler design decisions from 1990's forced upon stack team don't make sense but there was too much ego invested by Daimler high-ups to be able to change - R&D portfolio was a wasted effort

Pros

-Hydrogen fuel cells have potential to replace combustion engines in big vehicles -HR department does a great job promoting a fun work environment -Opportunities to connect with good people at Ford and Daimler -One of few automotive technology companies in Vancouver area

Cons

-Joint-venture owners (Ford and Daimler) give AFCC minimum funding to maintain claims of developing fuel cell technology, but do not pursue serious fuel cell vehicle programs -Few managers have experienced success in fuel cells or in any other industry -Despite being split from Ballard in 2008, still occupies Ballard office and lab space.

Pros

The salary paid to the employees at Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation Corporation is usually on the higher side, about industry average.

Cons

There is absolutely no work life balance in certain departments. No one fills in for you when you take your vacation so you have to work a lot and I mean a lot of overtime before and after your time off. Management culture is very "micro manage". The work environment is not worth the salary.
