Machine shop management has material handling experience, at best. They hire 1-2 experienced programmers who are expected to do all the work while management and operators stand around and chat often in the same room you are expected to be doing the programming. You will be expected to do all the middle managements paperwork, also.

The business is in constant disarray. The owner went to prison for wire fraud. The owner has practices which are morally wrong and borderline illegal, see above statement. The owner sticks his nose into everything, completely wrecking the production schedules. This led to late shipments, cancellation of PO's, etc and in turn missed paychecks. That says a lot about the financial health of the company... running from purchase order to purchase order to scrape by. The company owner has burned bridges with every company in the industry, and in related industries. Health insurance was canceled without notice. In fact I was even told the insurance was still good two weeks after the policy ended. Premiums were not paid, so there was also no COBRA coverage. No matching 401k, and there won't be one, likely ever. You will be working with pedophiles...
