      The building is on fire and there’s no help coming.

      Pros

      Their intentions are good, I suspect.

      Cons

      They don’t live up to their contractual obligations. Their HR department is worse than bad. They have a very top-heavy organization with lots of mgrs making big salaries all managing not enough front line therapists and case mgrs, who are making low salaries. Morale typically stays very low.

      Great Mission, Poor Follow Through

      Pros

      The work the organization sets our to do is important and could have a large positive impact in the community. The Vision is strong and draws intelligent and passionate people.

      Cons

      This is a classic bureaucratic, top-down, authoritative workplace. The organization prides itself on being a "culture of innovation" but uses this as an excuse for quickly changing course without involving the people doing the work in the process of designing and implementing the changes. Middle managers are treated as messengers forced to deliver directives that do not align with the capacity of their teams, nor with their own beliefs or understanding of the work needing to be done.

      Pros

      Lots of opportunities for training to advance skills. Challenging work. Opportunity to help people. Friendly, caring, and supportive staff. Good benefits, pay is not bad. I received a raise every year.

      Cons

      Work load difficult to manage. There's a huge separation between direct service providers and leadership. In my opinion, leadership needs to have more direct interaction with direct service providers. Trying to squeeze water from a rock.
