Pros

- Blockchain was "cool" a few years ago, too bad it isn't anymore - They are good at getting bad Glassdoor reviews removed

Cons

TLDR: management sucks up to clients, makes unrealistic promises, then dumps mountains of work on software engineers for bad pay. AVOID!!!!!! Too many cons to list here. Some include: - business/client facing team doesn't seem to DARE say no to clients - total pushovers - obsequiousness of client facing team leads to unrealistic expectations and promises that cannot be met - The DTCC project was meant to go live AGES AGO yet still hasn't gone live and it is now 2020 - SO FAR behind schedule - tiny stock option grants - terrible motivation for the team - management frequently misleads the team saying that they will do things and then not doing them - most if not all of the early employees left INCLUDING their initial VP of Engineering and Chief Operating Officer - shows they cannot retain talent - AxCore was meant to be open sourced ages ago but still hasn't been - why do you think they don't want people to be able to see the source code? - Terrible place for software engineers - bad code base, none of the engineering team gets a decent say in the best way to build the systems - I would NOT recommend joining here if you are a good software engineer - there are tons of other companies out there with better pay, easier work and better work life balance - Only got 15 days of vacation, 3 personal days and 5 sick days - no explanation of what to do if you are sick more than 5 days in a year - do you get fired? - Very rarely allowed work from home for engineering yet business team can pretty much come and go as they please - Didn't encourage internal candidates to apply for new openings, preferred to seek external candidates - Didn't give any good raises to software engineers

Pros

- Most people are friendly, the office is in a good location and there are fun team events - If you really like data reconciliation then you will be interested in the work

Cons

- Upper management got Axoni off the ground but I don't have confidence that they have the skills or experience to successfully scale the company from here. It's time for a change in management. - I don't think management values our opinions and they don't seem to have much or any empathy - I think there is a problem with toxic behavior being tolerated and it has a big effect on culture. It's likely that someone will throw you under the bus here. - Management is transparent on certain things but weirdly secretive in others

Pros

- Some of the people there are pretty cool/nice/intelligent/hard working - Snacks in the office - Ordered lunch Tues, Wed, Thurs - Competitive Salary - Remote for most people

Cons

- The positive reviews are clearly fake. I would guess that HR was instructed to create positive reviews. Those positive reviews are the complete opposite of my experience.  - This is NOT what you would expect from a REAL startup. The manner in which the company is run feels overly burdensome and is not agile at all. Everyone is just there to collect a fat paycheck, but don't expect to grow your career there. If you're half way experienced, you will likely regress in your skills and pick up bad habits.  - Lack of transparency.  - The "leadership" team is completely unqualified and have absolutely no business being in a leadership position. They have no skills or experience that you will be able to learn from and they should not be leading people. They would not even qualify as mid level managers in most companies. They have no tangible skills that are clearly evident. The CTO in particular has no experience in technology or software, he clearly does not value competence in himself as he was always nervous to speak with engineers b/c he knew that he could not hold a candle to even junior engineers in the company. - The CEO has NO skills or personality that makes me want to follow him. He is completely out of touch.  I would never want this man on my team. - Very tiered org structure. Too much hierarchy for such a small company. This is NOT a Flat organization. My assumption this is to shield the C-suite from judgement and to minimize visibility into how weak the "leaders" really are. - The only person in the leadership level that is worth working with is the SVP of engineering.  - It's a professional services company, not a product company. Everything is customized to the customer and the customers are not even renewing their contracts. There is very weak or no product-market fit.
