Pros

THE CONSULTANTS. They all get on very well with each other and are very friendly. It was an absolute pleasure to work with most of them. I made some great friends and would be delighted to work with many of them again in the future. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable of their specialist areas, which makes it a real shame to see the mistreatment of staff there.

Cons

Azon claim their biggest asset is their people. And they'd be right in saying that. Unfortunately, time and time again they have shown complete disregard for the people that work there. There has been issue after issue over the past year. As markets took a hit, which caused an inevitable loss of revenue for the business. Consultants have been the ones punished for it. Many people feel on edge due to the atmosphere that has developed in Azon. There is a complete disconnect between management and staff. Steps taken to resolve early issues have only made things worse and can only be described as complete mismanagement. Many "benefits" that are initially outlined before you join, are non-existent now. Working from home is not something offered but something that must be earned, by demonstrating to the CEO that you can meet your outrageous KPI's on an outdated ATS system that was incorrectly invested in. I've also heard that they have removed their early finish on a Friday which has further demotivated staff. Azon are without any level of senior management for many reasons, and have had no success in rectifying that glaring issue. In turn, the CEO has opted for micromanagement of consultants. Management will tell you there is an open door policy and say they will offer support, but admitting you're having issues will only further but you under the microscope. Junior consultants are left rudderless without managers or comprehensive training on their desks, and criticized for not succeeding at the levels of experienced recruiters. The commission structure is also incredibly poor, and many senior consultants have suffered because of it. Many issues that arose have been communicated to staff to paint management in the best possible light. A little digging showed that there was much more to the stories, which adds further to the complete lack of transparency in the place. A Talent & Culture Manager does not equal a comprehensive and diligent HR team by the way, so certain HR practices are not implemented correctly. The Limerick Office has pretty much collapsed, with the Dublin Office following suit, and I mean that literally and figuratively. The Dublin Office is an old Georgian building decaying at a rapid pace. Nothing makes that more evident than the growing black mold and mushrooms in the bathrooms :). I guess it is a toxic workplace after all! There is an inherent lack of trust between management and staff with no sign of that changing anytime soon. This review and others may be painted as harsh, which may be true, but the point still stands. Since the beginning of 2023 over 20 people have left the business, for various reasons, but by all accounts that number is only increasing week on week.

Pros

Company reassures everyone it has lots of money in the bank. Tells consistent billers not to worry. Great nights out including Xmas party where CEO dyed his hair. Great to see him embracing youth.

Cons

Toilets are a bit smelly Georgian building with stairs and grey walls. Disappointing that a third of the workforce were laid off.

We would like to highlight that we have been advised that there are multiple reviews from one former disgruntled employee on our Glassdoor page and believe this to be one. Thank you for your positive comments but there are many unsubstantiated points that are unfair. During the Covid19 pandemic and subsequent economic climate we find ourselves in, we have made many difficult decisions, like many others, to keep our business. Employees who have been let go have been done so on a temporary basis. As for our office, this is a grade 1 newly refurbished building set up with fantastic video conference rooms, games rooms and events space. It is a Georgian building with a beautiful facade that tourists take photos of on a regular basis. We wanted our own building that we could put our stamp on and we are proud of it. Our cleaning staff work very hard to maintain the building to an excellent standard. Our communication is strong within Azon where we have a weekly company wide meeting, weekly coffee morning and regular management meetings. Outside of this each manager will hold regular individual catch ups and as a team. Our message is strong; we offer clients and candidates a personal consultative approach to recruitment. Each team is built on first hand industry experience and qualifications so that they fully understand the sectors they are recruiting for. As we have grown we want to help each recruiter to be a success and offer every opportunity we can within this model. Thanks, Ronan Colleran - CEO

Pros

After my experience I cannot think of any pros to join, unless you want to suffer severe anxiety, fear of management or have a lack of job security.

Cons

During my time in Azon over a 8m period I have personally witnessed 5 staff memebers been forced out of positions. There had been no warnings, no reviews just called into a meeting with the CEO an his minion where intimidation is used. Most recently I witnessed a staff member been called in because there CV was on a job site and that person was made resign. The minion scrolls through linked in to see who in the company is open to work and then confronts them about it, even when the linkedin status is set to private so an employer can't view. There is also severe micromanagement.. My manager at the time once called me 15 times in one day to see how things were in another office.. I calculated the time to be a total of 3 hrs wasted!!!! I have also withnessed a colleague ask There manager a question and the response was go google it!! In one office branch I have seen 4 out of 9 staff pushed out since Jan 2023! The CEO is an accountant and the minion has a qualification in law.. Well clearly they warent any good in there chosen profession and aren't in this profession either. You learn nothing in AZON
