Pros

Work life balance is good. Somewhat social group, late nights drinking with colleagues.

Cons

Learn very little, never challenged. Limited junior level support (compensation is structured such that MDs allocate their deal fees to the junior staff...hence they prefer lean deal teams). Leads to junior members competitively vying to be liked by the few revenue producers in the firm (instead of trying to learn and produce good work product). Senior management is good at talking but no substance. Senior management is a bros club where everyone is trying to be liked in order to milk the few B. Riley investments that spin-off cash flow. Nobody is seeking to make improvements. Very little work is being performed. It's all about looking like your busy without actually doing anything.
