Pros

As someone working in HR, I know how some reviews can sound overly polished — so let me say upfront: This is just my honest take on what I personally value and enjoy about working at BEAT81. Young, international, and fun team – It’s a very diverse group with lots of energy and drive, and people genuinely enjoy working together. Mission-driven culture – You can feel the passion for what we do across the company. There’s a real sense of shared purpose. Radically caring mindset – People support each other, celebrate wins, and don’t take themselves too seriously. When mistakes happen, we learn and move on together. Collaborative, not competitive – It’s refreshing to be in a high-energy environment without the ego or elbowing. Great perks – 2x free unlimited BEAT81 memberships, Futurebens discounts, gym access (John Reed Bötzow), Meditopia/7Mind for mental health, and of course… the fruit basket and a LOT of kitchen snacks. Learning opportunities – With a learning & development budget and the chance to wear many hats, there’s a lot of room to grow if you're proactive. Nice office & events – Our new space is well set up for focus and collaboration. Regular team events, offsites, house parties, and workouts help people connect across departments. High autonomy & impact – It’s very hands-on and fast-paced. If you like building things from scratch and being trusted to run with them, this is a great place.

Cons

Not for everyone – If you prefer clearly defined roles, detailed instructions, or a lot of structure, the startup pace and ambiguity here can be challenging. High ownership culture – You’re trusted with a lot of responsibility, which is exciting and motivating. The drive to go above and beyond often comes from within (not from management), so it’s important to communicate your boundaries proactively to stay balanced. With many young or first-time people leaders, there’s a learning curve. We’re investing in leadership coaching, but it's still a work in progress. You need resilience – This isn’t the place for those who struggle with change. You have to be okay with shifting priorities, ambiguity, and decisions being reversed — without taking it personally. The ability to zoom out and see the bigger picture is key. Evolving processes – As with many growing startups, a lot is being built and iterated as we go. We’ve made meaningful progress in areas like feedback, role clarity, and career development, but there’s still room to grow and improve across the board.

Pros

Working at BEAT81 has been a genuinely rewarding experience. The environment is energetic, collaborative, and filled with people who are passionate about fitness, tech, and innovation. No two days are the same – it’s fast-paced and hands-on, which means you learn a lot quickly and can see your impact almost immediately. What I’ve appreciated most is the ownership you’re given in your role. Ideas are encouraged, and if you’re proactive, there’s a lot of room to drive meaningful projects forward. The leadership team is approachable, and cross-functional collaboration is a big part of how things get done.

Cons

That said, the pace can be intense, and priorities shift quickly – so it helps to be adaptable and comfortable with change. But if you enjoy working in a dynamic setting with a team that truly cares about what they do, BEAT81 is a great place to grow.
