The Company has the worst culture. It is a sin to be in Grade I and II in BEML. The Junior Officers would be exploited more than in the Worst Private companies. The working hours and erratic, one and to work every day from 10 to 12 hours, six days a week. The workers would only stay in the office for 8 hours by the clock and would do nothing but sit idle, they are protected by the Workers Union and thus the Management makes the Junior Officers their target. The job expectations are very unreal and irrational, the behavior of the Managers and unruly, harsh and unethical to the highest degree. To give you an example, You as a Junior Officer in Finance would be given a wrench and asked to build a Ship on your own without any guidance (Your Job and your Educational Qualification will never be related, if you are an Electrical Engg you ll be put in Mechanical) ....to top it up the deadline given to you would be say 2 days. After 3 Days to make the ship by scampering through and working 16 hours a day and when the Management sees your ship they would foul mouth you, demoralize and degrade you by telling you that you know nothing and that you were asked to prepare a Ship which can be used for Fishing, Travelling and also for War. Next would be that your ship is too small and you need to rework on it and build a new ship with the said specification in One Day. Say you complete the task in a weeks time, you would be tagged as non performer and your Probation would be extended by 1 years. Highly selfish and unethical people are found in BEML who are not concerned with the development of Junior Officers but they just want to use the Junior Officers and they themselves would just sit and sleep the whole day. The Managers who know nothing about the work would only plot against you to how to make life difficult for you.
