Pros

- Passionate and visionary colleagues, many of them ideologically ambitious. - Egalitarian culture. If you have an idea, you are given the opportunity to execute it. - Innovative and experimental projects/ideas are a norm and expected. - Throwing to the deep end in the first few months. You will be given responsibilities and opportunities that will test your capabilities to its perceived limit. - Profit-sharing for all permanent employees. - Hospitalization and travel benefits. - Brand name is recognized and respected. Primarily among businesses, corporations and the public sector. - Free-flowing pantry; constant food and beverage supplies.

Cons

- Egalitarian culture. It leads to blurred lines in recognizing specific lines of authority and structure. - Multi-tasking. A single employee is (usually) expected to hold down many different projects at once. For some, the pressure can be overbearing. - Salary negotiations can be a very prickly issue. Especially for newcomers. - Despite the openness and discourse culture, the company's ideology is strongly left-leaning and can often seep into the company's overall output and worldview.

Pros

Great exposure. Hands on with everything. Pretty much thrown into the deep end.

Cons

Sometimes lack of support for new comers. Cliquey groups so can be hard to blend in. Need to be an extrovert to survive as just doing your job alone is not enough to be noticed. Management have their favourites and quite visible among others.

Pros

Access to Thought Leaders: Producing content for a station like BFM puts you in contact with some of the most insightful minds in business, policy, and media in Malaysia. Up-to-Date Equipment: Video gear and editing software are reasonably current. The manager has solid industry experience and understands the importance of having the right tools for the job. Collaborative Team Culture: The people are passionate, intelligent, and helpful. Cross-department collaboration is common, and you’ll learn a lot just by osmosis.

Cons

Flat Structure, Unclear Expectations: There are no formal junior or senior titles — everyone is treated as being on the same level. This creates confusion around roles and responsibilities. Even if you're just starting your career, you're often expected to deliver at the level of someone with 5–8 years of experience, without adequate support or mentoring. Indecisive Leadership & Outdated HR Practices: Decision-making can be slow and unclear, especially regarding probation confirmation. There have been cases where employees are left in limbo well after their probation period, or are informed they're not confirmed after it has ended. Additionally, the HR system is very conventional and outdated, lacking transparency, digitization, and proper onboarding or performance review processes.
