Pros

I just started in the 1st week of March with BG Medical. After interviewing with several medical sales companies I found BG to be exactly what I was looking for. I definitely read all of the reviews here on Glassdoor, but as it is with careers in sales, I took it with a grain of salt. I wanted to test the experience for myself because it seemed like the right opportunity for me. I started training in the last week of February and it went very well. I learned a ton and was able to do a lot of hands on, which I found very helpful. The CEO and the other managers that were training us were straight to the point and very honest in everything they told us. The usual sales trainings that I have been through before always have the tendency to embellish the possible outcomes and it was refreshing to have complete honesty. “You’ll get out what you put in.” That was the common theme of training. Sales can be challenging no matter what the products or who the clients are, but at no point in time was that pushed under the rug. In fact, they took time to teach us all of the objections we would hear, and exactly how to handle them. Training prepared me for exactly what has happened in the field so far in my experience. The leadership is great, the product is beyond excellent, and the compensation is what I was looking for, a floor to stand on with no ceiling and unlimited earning potential. The experience so far in the field has been exactly what I expected. There are challenging days and there are amazing days, but what I love most is that I speak with my manager 5-8 times a day. He always answers my calls and not only answers my questions, but helps me plan my next move. He is truly invested in my success. He is definitely one of the major reasons that I have been successful. As far as numbers go, the first month was good (for a 1st month), my second month grew over 100% from the previous, and in the first two days of May I am almost beating April’s numbers. If you follow the program you will be successful. It’s literally that simple. The sales model they have is genius and works as long as you work and follow it! The money is good, and its obviously getting better with increased sales. They take care of traveling expenses and the compensation is worth the work. I am doing quite well and I haven’t even scratched the surface yet of my earning potential in this position. I love my new career with BG Medical and I am blessed to be apart of an incredible team. My tips for anyone considering this position: 1) Be teachable and follow the program 2) Realize there is a learning curve and understand there will be tough days as well as amazing ones. 3) Work hard. In my personal opinion, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make the change into medical sales. I absolutely love everyday and have had a great experience so far.

Cons

I personally like the travel because I am single and enjoy being on the road. If you have a family it could be tough.

Pros

Opportunity to break into medical device field, hopefully you have current sales so you start off with some pay, but even that will be limited by CEO.

Cons

Learning on your own Commission only, which runs about $100-$200 per sale. No additional help for traveling 500+ miles per week. No contracts. No opportunity for advancement.

Pros

Accepting a position with BG Medical is an awesome way to get experience in medical device sales. The product is superior to competition and supported by lots of data. Reps start off with a guaranteed monthly pay, which allows them to build up some business before transitioning to full commission. Great opportunity for commission and bonuses. It is a 10-99 position, which isn't bad, it's just different.

Cons

Some travel is required, which again isn't bad, just something to be aware of. You pay your travel expenses upfront and are reimbursed (hotel and gas).
