Pros
The team are great. Good discount allowance. Good training in place and the ability to do NVQs, first aid training etc
Cons
Promotions sprung on you at short notice requiring you to work extra or later hours. Inconsistant returns policy, can say not to a return in store because policy does not allow it (for example pillows and duvet returns) however as soon as its escalated to management or head office, return always gets accepted making us look like fools. 45 days is too long for refunds! Also the new policy of not returning sale doesnt work, if they cause even the slightest of fuss it gets returned anyway. Click and collect system is awful. 3-6 working days for standard store delivery is too long compared to competitors. The split parcels are a nightmare also, the system doesnt always recognise them as split. Ive seen it book a complete order in when only half has arrived and it sometimes wont book in the part you have recieved. Also no notification for if it is split when you are booking it in unless you fully open the order up on the creen for each parcel (some days you have 100s!) Not enough payroll to employ enough people, constantly doing the work of at least 2! New daily deployment sheets are awful, cant zone properly like on the old ones, also says in it how many tills should be open etc based on the figures put in but doesnt work like that in every store! All equipment is falling apart, constantly having to bodge rails and racks to keep them on the shop floor. Get alot of hand me downs. Maintenence issues are appaling, toilets constantly out of action, lifts out of action, escalators shock people, half the lights out, floor coming up. Too many promotions constantly changing, the same offers can stay on for weeks but we have to continually change the signs to a different colour. It doesnt matter to the customer what colour the sign is!
