Cons

Technology-wise, it is not a great company to work for. If you are a fresher and want to get your hands into the latest Java tech stack, it may be a good place for you. However, if you're a senior folk and want something challenging, stay away. There's nothing new happening here. It's a microinsurance company, so tech is definitely not their first priority. Best coding practices are a joke. People write whatever they feel is right. Even though, it claims to be a product based company, it pretty much works like a service based company. The focus is not on the quality of the product, but rather how soon it can be delivered. Project Managers are mostly from non-technical background, so it becomes especially difficult to work with them. Most decisions are made in their HQ in London and all you have to do as an engineer is just implement what's handed down to you. Also, the senior management has no clue about tech, so all they can think of is outsource their codebase to salesforce. Paywise also, this is not a great company. Hikes are almost negligible. You have to keep buttering up your reporting manager or director of engineering to get that hike. The company literally runs on funds despite being in the market for 13 long years. They have shutdown their operations in many places because they couldn't make their own money and they were also thinking of shrinking their engineering team in Bangalore because of lack of fund. If they run out of funds tomorrow, you will be out of work soon. Overall, it's not a good company to work for if you're a technically sound guy and want to work on challenging projects.

Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

My experience with this company was nothing short of a nightmare. Employees in the London office were blindsided by sudden redundancies, leaving us unpaid for work we had completed and denied payment for our contractual notice periods. It was a deliberate, calculated act by the company’s leadership. The CEO was fully aware of what was happening but chose to deceive employees instead of being transparent. To make matters worse, because the company is based in Singapore, no legal recourse was available for us to recover our rightful wages. What this company did was not only unethical but also illegal, and it’s clear they exploit their international setup to avoid accountability.
