Pros

I met a few people that were very nice. Unfortunately, they are also looking to to get out of that place.

Cons

I'm guessing if you are reading this, you are considering employment at this company. My advise to you, please pass on this place and find yourself a good job with a great company where you will valued for your intellect and forward thinking. This place will do nothing for you, I would call it career suicide if you took employment here. If you read the reviews on this site, you will see consistency with negative reviews at the Lakeville facility and more positive reviews at the Detroit Lakes facility. Let me tell you why that is. Well, simply put, the folks that are working at the Detroit Lakes facility have no where else to go. There aren't many choices in that area what will provide the benefits that are offered at BTD. I'm not saying the benefits are good, in fact they aren't, but they are better than what they have available up there. I would also say they give positive reviews because most executive management is located in Detroit Lakes and since that is where the company was basically founded, that is significant favoritism in that location. Now, you are probably wondering why the reviews are so bad at the Lakeville facility. These folks that work there are considered the "red headed step children" of the company. There opinions are not wanted and they are treated as second class citizens. Another reason is the leadership that is presented at the Lakeville facility. They now have a leader that has zero experience in running a plant. That's right, you read that correctly, he has no experience. This person is protected and promoted by the president of the company. He has not advanced based on his talents, professionalism or experience, but rather being coddled by the president. HR receives complaints about how he treats the people, but they don't do anything. They can't, he's protected. I wish you the best of luck finding a good job, that is why I took the time to write this review. If I can help at least 1 person stay away from this place, then I've done what I believe is morally responsible.

Pros

Most of the employees are good to work with. Some leadership, the few that weren't hand picked by the most recent Leadership, care about more than themselves and getting their butts chewed.

Cons

95% of leadership is a a hand picked group of "yes men" with no spine or experience in the industry other than their extremely short time here. College babies looking for their participation ribbons for showing up to work, all word, no action. The new "executive leadership" is the absolute most disrespectful, back stabbing, fake, team we have ever dealt with. Ask for their accomplishments and well , that's a very short story. If you add up all the new leadership, you might get a post it note full of good they have done. Turnover is a joke, benefits went to crap, bonuses are a joke, other than a paycheck, there is zero reason to want to work here, I wish I knew why I stay, other than a family to support. So much potential in the shop destroyed by the lack of moral and effort by the executive team/director.

Pros

It took me a very long time to think of anything good to possibly say about BTD. I gave up

Cons

The upper Management is a complete joke. Overall morale of people on the shop floor is extremely low. The management has a mentality of you should be lucky to work for BTD, but its the absolute opposite. This company used to be a good place to work... Sadly that was a long time ago. Recently they have devised up a plan to change the shifts for a certain department so this hell hole runs 24/7. They want us to work 12 hour days on the weekends instead of our standard Monday-Friday. To expect people to completely change up their schedules for this company and then offer nothing for you is classic BTD. Supervisors are extremely aggressive and straight up disrespectful. The planning is also a joke. The working environment sucks. They expect you to clean your work stations and machines every day, and then when you are cleaning they yell at you and ask why you're not running your machine. Everything about this place is a joke. I can't wait until this nightmare is over and I am no longer an employee with BTD
