Pros

Feminist/Queer environment is a rare plus. The mission is something I believe in. Store managers are supportive and care about employees. Pay isn't great, but pretty good for retail..

Cons

Middle management (at the stores) is great, but upper management kind of sucks (though I really like the owners) and as another reviewer said, the COO manages by bullying. All the warehouse jobs were outsourced to an outside company in order to save money.

Pros

It started off as a fun place to work, and somewhere I could be myself at work ie out as non binary.

Cons

The constant classism, immaturity, transphobia and bullying tactics from management all the way up to the owner of Good Vibrations (who took over the company when Venning and the other co-founder sold it,) was absolutely astounding, even compared to other retail jobs and food service jobs. They will try to use you up. If you decide to work here, have an exit strategy!

Pros

Used to be a good feminist owned company. Unfortunately it was bought out a few years ago by a cis man Free toys Low stress

Cons

Horrible current upper management The education director thinks she’s all that and is very pompous and condescending. The HR Director is well connected to the owner and calls the shots, many of which are unfair and just not right. You cannot confide in her as she is protecting the owner. The owner agreed with me on a serious issue yet HR stood by her original decision. The company is now a joke. Better off buying product on amazon since the flagship store is only open 3 days per week, which is another poor business decision. A few years back the stores were very inviting, inclusive and offered great service. The new owner and higher up’s ruined all of that.
