Pros

- You'll gain a new appreciation for every job you have after leaving because no matter how bad it is, it will never be as bad as Badger - You’ll make lifelong friends because of the shared experience of trauma and abuse from the owner - You'll make really great creative work...that clients never see because the owner comes in a the last minute and forces her tired, old school ideas in instead - You'll get the chance to push your startegy chops, since the owner cuts strategists totally out - You'll discover more resilience that you never knew you had trying to not have a mental breakdown (not a metaphor, many employees actually have over the years)

Cons

I wish I had paid attention to the warnings. I only wanted to hear the good things and that was a mistake. And that is the theme at Badger and Winters. Nothing is as good as it sounds: - Abuse disguised as "family" - Misogyny disguised as feminism - Tokenism disguised as diversity and inclusion - Control disguised as leadership - Traditional, outdated thinking disguised by slides that say "digital" or "social" - Racism disguised as "hispanic capabilities" - Berating disguised as discussion - The hollow pleading for forgiveness by an abuser disguised as affection - Empty words disguised as empathy - Chao disguised as scrappy - Mediocre work disguised as good (through no fault of the employees - all of their great thinking gets steamrolled by the owner's bad ideas)

This agency hides behind #WomenNotObjects

Pros

This agency transformed the industry with #WomenNotObject

Cons

The agency has a lot of women employees, but women cry everyday here because it is a mean, hard, and political work environment. Mean girls get rewarded. I can't count the number of times that I've seen screaming matches, bullying (by even the founders), and egos that drive irrational decision making. I find other women in the restroom crying all the time. The company even has an employee that didn't have proper working papers and lies to the government by compensating her "under the table." The founder smokes in the office, which is illegal, and by doing so sets an example for others to do so that physically harms other staff. It's truly selfish and horrific.

Nice people, decent money, awful management

Pros

The money is decent, and most of the people are pleasant to work with (I'm still friends with some of them). The mismanagement of the company can also be an advantage at times... pay raises and new titles are awarded almost arbitrarily, so one might find themselves as a junior creative director quicker than they would elsewhere.

Cons

The company is very poorly organized/managed, and one frequently wonders who's in charge at any given time. Almost every project is run through the CEO who is a very nice person but acts more like a creative director... this wouldn't be a problem if there wasn't so much work to do. This mismanagement used to result in incredibly frustrating bottlenecks and long hours for employees, until Badger & Winters lost a major client to another agency. Since then things have improved some... mostly due to there just being less work.
