Pros

pretty break room if you can get an opportunity to use it. You probably won't. Some really awesome low/mid-level employees who have drank the kool-aid hype that is BancVue. They are wicked smart.

Cons

This company uses Myers-Briggs testing, not to assist you with self-enlightenment to perhaps assist you to be more effective in your work and work relationships. They use it to stick you in a box for themselves, so that the can control you. One person who chose not to participate in the M-B was fired several months later. There is a cult-like following in HR and C-level positions for M-B. Approach with caution. In most cases (there are a few exceptions), the louder and more brash you are, the more management will like you. Even if you don't know what you are talking about. There are people who have been promoted to positions of authority that perhaps should not be: they failed on their previous tasks, blamed their teams and then got promoted. The subsequent teams were decimated, but the failed manager was promoted. There are others who really don't do anything relevant to the day-to-day operations of the company, but are still employed. I shall not speculate about why. It doesn't appear that the "new" offerings are even yet off the ground. 2, 2 and a half years? What's up people? Be very careful approaching this company. It all may seems well. Do a sniff test. I am out of here as soon as possible.

Not a good place to work

Pros

Bancvue has a good product. Reward checking is great for community banks that cannot compete with megabank services.

Cons

Management is not in touch with employees. They do not know how to plan and or execute strategy. They are driving a once good company in to the ground.

Pros

The benefits are really hard to beat. The company really values your work/life balance and encourages its employees to socialize and get to know one another. Gym reimbursements, cheap and great healthcare, and tons of events that allow you to relax and have a beer with your coworker make this company hard to leave. The majority of people who work here are genuine, caring, and respectful. I would have left a while ago if it wasn't for my team and friends at the company.

Cons

Unfortunately I wish I could say only good things about this company, but the other cons in previous reviews are spot on. Friends of the CEO are never held accountable for their shortcomings, but rather shuffled around into roles they are not prepared for (ex. product manager was put in charge of B2B marketing last year...explain that to me?) and keep being promoted while the teams below them suffer for these poor decisions. People are constantly promoted or hired into manager positions who are not ready for it and make working at BancVue a headache. The disorganization and inexperience of these people make those below them gradually hate their job and push them out. Constant shifts in the company's goals due to lack of sales and scrambling for money cause teams to drop what they're doing and switch priorities multiple times throughout the year. We can afford to fly our CMO back and forth from GA each week and pay for all of his expenses, yet our budgets get cut because of sales and poor decisions made by upper management. Hard workers have been fired because of their "position being eliminated," when we're really just scrambling for costs and I wouldn't be surprised if we did have another round of layoffs. If you didn't already guess, I'm on my way out the door - sick of going in circles and seeing the favoritism of the company continue to grow.
