Pros

1. Good potential in the open banking world. Management had a very good understanding of the product and the domain. 2. It's not easy to crack their interview so you will always be surrounded by very very talented and smart people. 3. Good exposure to secure applications and open banking world 4. Company growth looked promising

Cons

1. Lazy middle management. Always ready to throw juniors under the bus. No sense of ownership 2. No documentation. Pathetic processes. Production releases happened over very very long calls and without any process or steps. And then everything used to blow up. 3. Don't fall for only an "8 hours working" lie. No IT company can give you this. Being a startup, this one definitely won't give you this. They expect you to be available 24*7. On weekends, after office hours. If a client demands you will be put on a different shift or on call. Some of the managers are so horrible that they call late in the night even for SIT environment issues. Typical start-up like a stressful environment. 3. HR policies: Very very immature and incomplete. They changed policies whenever they felt so. Few pathetic policies I have never seen or heard of anywhere else, everyone that I worked with was wondering if they even consider employees while coming up with such policies. Less number of paid leaves. They say they give X number of public holidays. If a particular public holiday falls on the weekend then they won't adjust that for any other potential public holiday. So, in reality it's just 7-8 public holidays. 4. Service/Product: yes it is a product company. But their model is more like a service based company. Don't have a separate product team and client customisation team. Nowhere close to the product work culture or even startup culture for that matter. 5. Resources were moved from project to project frequently. 6. project managers/ BAs had no sense of communication. No sense of priorities. They are just bothered about completing the ticket. They kept tagging employees in communication threads without understanding priorities. 7. Horrible way of running sprints. Each and every sprint that I saw, was a complete disaster. No planning, No correct estimation, if estimated then stake holders assume it's always the happy scenario and the developer will deliver. Tickets were continuously pushed around from one team to another, one developer to another for months. They asked all team members to record each and every hour spent during the work day in a separate sheet. 8. They expect members to complete tasks on time but they do not want to help them by improving their processes. Rather they create additional obstacles by introducing meaningless processes or additional restrictions. 9.No fixed date for salary. It usually happens within the first 7 days of the month. 10. Job security: If you are concerned about job security then you should not work for a startup. And definitely not for Banfico. A resource here worked for more than 2 years. Recently had a review with avg/above avg rating. That resource was fired. They didn't even have the decency to provide explanation. There were a couple of resources in the past who were fired. My suggestion: think a thousand times before joining this company.

Thank you *** for your detailed comments. I understand the grievance of losing your job. As a CEO, I take responsibility for the same. Team fit is of great importance in working in Banfico. Scrum/agile and retro meetings are the places to raise professional concerns on the sprints and deal with peers professionally. Btw, we don't adopt middle management. One of the reasons we had to let you go is a lack of understanding of the agile way of working and teamwork. Also sometimes, there could be personality issues within the team, you should have raised them with the HR team and considered moving to another team. I sincerely wish you the very best! Thank you and best regards Kannan, CEO. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn and am happy to catch up.

Dear **** Thanks for writing your grievance. Unfortunately, you were unable to deliver to the expectations and had to part ways. You were paid the highest and you couldn't do a demo of the product despite working for more than 3 months. The team suspected that you were working on another job as you were not available on Slack communicator during core business hours. Wish you all the best in your next endeavours.
