Not a Good One

Pros

It was in Colorado (but there's a lot of other civil companies in CO too). The benefits were average at best and the ESOP isn't worth it when you could be getting higher bonuses and salary elsewhere.

Cons

- No diversity - no females or any kind of diversity in leadership and don't promote or provide professional development to the females they have. As a young engineer knowing how to do things correctly is pivotal and you will not learn that here. You'll learn how to take shortcuts and make things "look right", potentially putting your future as a PE at risk - The message leadership propagates is antithesis to their operations. The owner touted about how you could advance if you worked hard. Good luck, unless you're a white man - The owner literally has another competing engineering company that no one at the company knows about except leadership, even though it's publicly available information. He obviously doesn't care about this one anymore as I've worked there for a little over a year and I saw him once.

Pros

This company has many benefits, but they depend mostly on the position you have. Office people get free monthly lunches during trainings and field guys get weekly free breakfast burritos or donuts. There are always a lot of snacks that all employees can enjoy every day at any location. They allow for flexible work weeks and have a reasonable vacation and holiday hours given to each employee (including a flex holiday). They are diversified in business which means they're more likely to survive downturns in industries because they can switch resources to work with other industries. Depending on your job, you can also work from different locations if you're visiting different areas of Colorado. They're also focusing a lot on training for our systems, AutoCAD, and PM Training.

Cons

Smaller company that doesn't yet provide FMLA because they don't have 50 employees yet.
