Pros

This place does meaningful work, really tries to meet the needs of the community. I’ve met some really incredible people, co-workers and guests being served alike.

Cons

Working here is difficult, beyond you’re typical “non-profit difficulties” difficult. There is a culture of little to no accountability, disharmony amongst departments and overall disorganization.

Pros

The mission helps a lot of needy people who really want to change their lives. If you are in management, no one keeps track of your time.

Cons

The place is run by Right Wing Bigots! The management has Ben Carson bumper stickers on their cars. Ben Carson literature is out for the staff to take. Quotes from Aran Rand are on the wall. A manager sent an email out about Blood Moons and the end of the world. The management is anti Catholic. Even the CEO made rude remarks about the Pope. They try to convert the Catholics in the program. An Anti Catholic bilingual man preaches to the Hispanic Neighbors who come by for the Friday Giveaways. They use the MacArthur Study Bible a book by the very anti Catholic Dr. John MacArthur. The people in the program are treated with disrespect. Many leave the program because of this. The statistics that the mission claims, are greatly exaggerated. They claim to have an 87% success rate with the people in rehab. Their website says that they serve 93,062 meals a month. The number is closer to 18,000. Upper Management is not involved with the people in the shelter. The Board of Directors did not meet for four months
