Warning: Owner is a POS. DON'T WORK HERE!
Pros
My coworkers are amazing, or at least the ones who have stayed. The job aligns perfectly with the expectations for an account manager's role. The compensation is also an advantage, but I've come to understand the reason behind it.
Cons
The rules and guidelines are not clear before you enter the job. It's only when you are bombarded with unkind emails from the owner on an almost daily basis directed at everyone, sometimes singling out specific individuals, that you actually learn the boundaries and expectations of the job. The owner pretends to be kind during the interview process, but his true colors become evident once you secure the position. He seems to have a "I pay you well, so I don't have to respect or be kind to you" mentality. When he asked a question to all of us, I attempted to respond when no one else would, only to have my answer met with laughter and a blunt "no." The biggest red flag that I noticed from day one under his leadership was the incredibly high turnover rate. In the three years since he acquired the company, only four people have remained, and even the clients inquire about how we are treated, as they have had to reintroduce themselves to many account managers over the years. There are numerous other landscaping companies that treat their employees with respect, and I hope you consider exploring those opportunities. I would strongly advise against accepting any job offer from this company. I wish I did.
