Pros

You're helping children in need

Cons

The higher ups are god awful. We told them some of the other counselors were over medicating children to sleep, that staff were leaving kids unattended, that a child was SA by another child, and much more and they did absolutely nothing about it. They all abuse to happen within the group homes. They rarely check in. I understand being short staffed but the ratios were constantly off. You get paid no money and over worked. They don't care about the kids and there needs at all. It was so devastating to see first hand what the children had to put up with. If i could give them 0 stars I would. They should be shut down honestly.

Pros

Supportive co-workers, opportunities to attend monthly trainings, generally positive office environment, overall positive experiences with supervision, company has recently been expanding employee wellness benefits

Cons

Productivity model is difficult to maintain without working excessive hours, training within each program varies greatly - expectations are not relayed uniformly to each employee, new rules or regulations can be implemented without notice or proper explanation, low pay, difficult to balance meeting productivity and self care - high burnout rates
