      Pros

      Great colleagues, some interesting projects (depending on the sponsor), & an enormous amount of opportunities to learn. Nice salary if you are a contractor.

      Cons

      Abysmal work culture, insufferable upper management, lack of innovative thinking, poor benefits for FTEs, and hands down the most micromanagement I have ever experienced at any company. Those at the upper levels seem to enjoy nitpicking & endlessly cc’ing on their emails. If you think & act like them, you’ll get promoted. If you don’t, you won’t be able to stay here long. It will be mentally unbearable for you.

      Pros

      Small company, privately held, lots of autonomy and varying tasks. Given the opportunity to learn new skills and they try very hard to make sure that you are happy with the role you have.

      Cons

      As a small company, they do not offer any type of benefit other than health insurance for the majority of employees. Depending on your role, you may be reimbursed for a cell phone, but there is no retirement, life insurance, FSA, or short or long-term disability. Also, sick time is minimal and cannot be carried over from year to year, and you are very limited in how much vacation you can carry over and how much can be used in a year.
