Culture, transparency, and trust have deteriorated since the acquisition

Pros

There are still some talented and dedicated people, particularly among long-standing Beekeeper employees. Many colleagues genuinely care about the product, customers, and each other.

Cons

Since the acquisition by LumApps, the working environment has become increasingly unpleasant and unstable. The culture that made Beekeeper a strong place to work has largely disappeared, and there is a growing sense that employee trust is no longer a priority. Communication from leadership has been poor. Major topics such as benefits, compensation, career progression, and the future operating model remain unclear nearly a year after the acquisition. Employees are repeatedly told that updates are coming “soon,” but meaningful clarity keeps being delayed. There has also been significant leadership and employee turnover, which has reinforced the growing uncertainty across the company. Both Beekeeper’s CEO and Chief People Officer have now left, alongside a growing number of long-standing employees across teams. At this point, it is increasingly common to hear colleagues openly discussing interviews or plans to leave, creating real concern about who will still be here in the coming months. The Zurich office feels particularly exposed. Salaries appear to be staying flat while expectations increase, and compensation now feels significantly below market given the size and ambitions of the combined company. Benefits have been put on hold or left unresolved for too long. Decision-making increasingly feels relationship-driven rather than transparent or merit-based. It is becoming a “who knows who” environment, which is damaging morale and making the company feel less fair and less professional. Compensation has largely remained stagnant since the acquisition, while parts of the previous EPP/additional compensation structure have disappeared entirely for many employees. Joining the Zurich/Swiss office right now feels risky. The company may still have potential, but the current employee experience is defined by uncertainty, weak communication, declining trust, and visible attrition.

A really decent company

Pros

Nice place to work with friendly and supportive colleagues. The company culture used to be a bit more easygoing before being acquired by an investment fund, but overall it’s still a good and positive work environment. Remote work possible but they are trying to bring people back to the hybrid mode.

Cons

There is currently some organizational uncertainty due to the merger with another company, which may make the next couple of years more challenging.
